How To Sew A Christmas Stocking
Inspired by the medieval fairy-tale villages in the Alsace region of France, our Christmas Stocking embodies the charm of the timber framed houses dotted throughout the cobbled streets and the nostalgic feel of the bustling Christmas markets. The construction of the Christmas Stocking features a patterned quilt block mimicking a folklike border along the top edge and a minimal, roomy silhouette to hold all of your magical finds.
The Christmas Stocking is the perfect project for a beginner sewer. Our illustrated instructions for both the quilt block and the stocking take you through each step of the process with ease. We hope that your experience sewing our Christmas Stocking brings you great joy.
What You'll Need
SUGGESTED FABRICS + MATERIALS
This pattern is designed for woven fabrics. We recommend using a light to medium weight [4oz to 7oz] cotton, linen or natural blended fabric. If using a light weight fabric, we recommend using a lightweight cotton or wool batting to add more structure to your stocking. Of course, this is optional and based on preference.
For the hanging loop, we suggest using either a natural medium weight ribbon or a light to medium weight fabric which can be sewn into an appropriate sized tube.
