A to Z Quilt PDF Pattern

The construction of the A to Z Quilt features combinations of simple shapes sewn together to form 26 individual letter blocks, the traditional running stitch quilting technique and a single fold binding hand stitched into place. The finished quilt measurements are 54 inches [width] by 69 inches [height].

This pattern is designed for woven fabrics. For the quilt top, we recommend using a medium weight  [5oz to 6oz] fabric for durability. You could go with either a cotton, linen or natural blended fabric.

For the batting, you could use either a wool or cotton batting. A cotton batting tends to be heavier weight, is less likely to pill and may shrink slightly after the first wash which gives your quilt a nice worn vintage look [if that’s your preference]. A wool batting tends to be lighter weight, yet warmer and really shows off the quilting nicely. If you decide on a wool batting, make sure the brand states that the batting is preshrunk.
